Your Accountex Checklist

Accountex 2016 is fast approaching and the OCREX team are getting ready and packing our bags.  We have put together a useful list to help you get the most out of your visit.

1) Plan your time so you don’t miss anything

There is so much to see at Accountex with so many keynote speakers and industry leaders speaking. No matter how well you plan will not be able to attend them all so ahead of time select your top seminars that you don’t want to miss and plan your day and breaks around the timetable

2) Take Notes

With so many great speaking sessions it can be hard to take it all in.  So that you can benefit fully from everything you learn it can be helpful to take notes.  Using an app like Evernote you can snap photos of presentations and exhibitors and make notes for later – it can be a good idea to have a list of “action points” that you can implement as soon as you are back in the office.   When you have had time to recover and digest everything you have seen your list will help you focus on any useful information and get the most out of the experience

3) Set aside time for exhibitors

It would be near impossible for you to visit all of the exhibitor stands at Accountex and many will not be relevant to your particular business. Make sure you review the list of exhibitors beforehand and identify the ones you really want to talk to in-depth. Accountex can be a great opportunity to meet your account managers and get demos of new and innovative products.  While the internet allows us to do online demos and webinars nothing really beats seeing a product working in the flesh.  The OCREX team on stand A422 will be ready and waiting to show you all that is new in the world of automated data entry.

4) Network, Network, Network

A big part of attending any conference or trade show is getting to network and swap stories with both your customers and peers.  With the advent of LinkedIn this is now a much easier task as you have a face to put to the name – when at Accountex introduce yourself in person.  Make sure you have lots of business cards to hand out.  For new connections it can be useful to make a note on the back of their business card so you remember what conversation you have had with them.  Once back in the office or on your smartphone add any new connections on LinkedIn with a personal message reminding them of your meeting.

5) Keep your energy levels up

Accountex can be exhausting.  Stay well hydrated throughout the day and take advantage of the food on offer to keep your energy levels high.  It’s a good idea to keep some snacks and bottled water with you to help you last the day.  If energy levels are starting to drop and you need a little pick me you drop by the OCREX team on stand A422 and we will have some treats to help keep you going.
